Backpacks are one of my favorite features in the mod, they are really useful and also balanced, and one of my most used features after I get my hands on one. However, they have some strange UX choices that I've ran into over my quark gameplay experience. I compiled them all here, hopefully one of these could be fixed/become configurable 🙂
- I would love for there to be a way to unequip a backpack without having to take out all the items inside of it. Like, to just make it drop all of the content out, like shift-right clicking a bundle. This could be a quick way to disequip + get all of your the items inside it into your main inventory, where you can be able to sort them easier. I was thinking maybe control + q'ing (the keybind that throws out a whole stack of items) while hovering over the equipped backpack slot should do this.
- Since being inside containers like chests and furnaces makes you unable to see them items you have in your backpack, I suggest adding a keybind that instantly switches the contents of your backpack and the contents of your inventory so you manipulate the items in your backpack without having to open it + put everything in your main inventory. Maybe this could be tied to the hotbar changer module?
- In addition, currently,shift-clicking an item in your inventory with a backpack equipped will set that item into your hotbar instead of going into your backpack, if your hotbar is empty. I think shift clicking should simply always set the item into your backpack, since you can already hover + use number keys to place items inside your hotbar.
