There are a number of lovely vanilla-friendly features in quark. On servers without quark, I have greatly enjoyed reacharound block placement and ladder enhancements, for instance. However, sometimes servers don't take kindly to certain quark features, or sometimes a this-or-that goes haywire on the client side of the quark mod.
I humbly submit that it would be rather convenient if there were a 'just in case' failsafe option all bundled into a single little toggle: Server Safe Mode, whose hypothetical purpose would be to hard override disable all of individual components of each module except the ones that do not require a server's cooperation.
As Quark continues to refine and become more feature rich over time, successive updates of the mod would also have an updated Server Safe Mode to handle micromanaging modular components so users don't have to worry about disabling everything and then bringing components back online through trial and error.
...
pre-emptively i would like to apologize if i'm just overthinking, or worrying about nothing. it is possible that i am merely being paranoid and superstitious due to experiencing a server issue myself today and managing to be capable of connecting and playing again after manually disabling some quark features. For all I know, what if it was pure happenstance that my client and the server started getting along when they did? What if quark wasn't the issue in the first place? As computer programming is not my area of expertise in life and I am not terribly well suited for grasping it, such a feature as this would give me peace of mind. And because I'm nothing special, I'm sure there must be others in a similar position whom I wish to spare these recent anxieties. I would simply be remiss if I did not at least offer my two cents when there is even the faintest chance that it might help.
With fond regards for your fantastic work,
