Quark 4.1-473 and Zeta 1.1-38 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on Neoforge
At long last, through trial and tribulation, our love for Quark has culminated in a public beta for 1.21.1!
What's New?
Added Features
- Cherry Grove Water Petals: Under World category. Water Petals from the Tweaks module can now generate in clumps on top of water in Cherry Grove biomes. Size, frequency, and "jaggedness" are configurable.
- Elytras are now boosted by Campfires that are under Iron Grates
- Foxhounds and Shibas can now wear Wolf Armor
- Tamed foxhounds can now attack your enemies
- Oretoise drops are now individual loot tables
- Replaced the Twitter button on the q button screen with a BlueSky button
- Added variants of Allays
- You are now moved upwards when you are on a block that is pulled up by a rope; you can actually use the rope as a neat transportation tool!
- Added a secret funny reference advancement
- Quark itself no longer overrides vanilla data files; A new always-on datapack, Quark VDO ("Vanilla Data Overrides") disables vanilla recipes when the relevant option is enabled, with a recipe under the
quark namespace taking its place
- Glass Shard drops have been moved to Loot Modifiers
Removals
- Enchantments Begone has been removed since enchantments can now be removed with datapacks
- Enchantment Predicates have been removed because it will be a vanilla feature in 1.21.4 and there are mods that can do this better anyway
- Removed Crafter Backport for obvious reasons
- Several tuff-related blocks have been removed due to overlap with vanilla
- Removed Herobrine
Will this work with <1.20 worlds that have Quark?
Honestly, I wouldn't bet on it. There was a lot of stuff that had to be rearranged and redone internally, so most
What's the plan moving forward?
Partonetrain is going to keep watching our issue tracker, but the three of us on the port team are pretty tired and are going to be taking a break. Don't expect another release for a bit. We're not going to be porting to any more versions for the time being, but we'd like to continue porting Quark to whatever the latest "stable" modding version is eventually -- but our infrastructure needs a lot of work first.
I would personally like to thank everyone who submitted a bug report, sent code our way, and who supported us throughout. Specifically I'd like to spotlight Train and Keyboard, who were a massive part in getting this update out. Train went through and had to redo a lot of our internal data files, whilst Keyboard slogged through some of the roughest parts of the port by himself. I would also like to thank LeoBeliik, whos bug catching skills were invaluable in getting this to a working state.
We will probably discuss more about our plans for the future later, but for now, thanks for your patience, and we hope you enjoy the update.
Where can I get the release?
As of right now, it should be available on Modrinth:
Quark
Oddities
Zeta
We still need to wait for Curseforge to publish them, but you know where it will be.
THANK YOU FOR PLAYING OUR QUARK
