New to Psi, can't see what to do

I'm fairly new to Psi, as it was put in a modpack I'm playing, though I can't find anything on how to use the CAD devices with tricks or spells. I've hit a wall with progression due to this, as Psi is the next quest line I need to do before I can do anything else, and I can't even infuse Gold. Nobody I play with knows what to do with Psi either...

Could you give a bit more information on what you've tried, such as screenshots? It's hard to give you direction with such little information, so maybe a screenshot of spells you've had trouble executing.
Or if it's trouble even casting spells in the first place.
