How to get the Botania's achievement: "Blessing"

Hey all!
We are July 19th, and I'm trying to get Botania's success "Blessing - Celebrate Tiny Potato's birthday on July 19th".

I tried petting him, giving him a gift, giving him cake, but I can't seem to actually validate the achievement.
Am I missing something?

It's specifically a candle cake with lit candle.

yes, place a cake on the block in front of the tater, add a candle, and light it with flint and steel. this was added sometime during 1.18, so make sure you're on the latest build for that version if you're playing on 1.18. but if you can see the advancement you should be good

Just wait a moment for the tater to "realize" after lighting the candle.
Also, if you have Amendments, right-clicking on a candle'd cake while holding a flint and steal will eat a slice. You'll have to shift-right-click.
