Narslimmus Problem

I've been having an odd issue with my slime farm, It's a simple setup. It operates in a slime chunk but on the surface in a swamp, the Narslimmus replaces the usual killing pit, and elven spreaders channel the mana up to a bunch of mana pools at the AFK point. It's fairly straightforward and generally effective. My problem comes in that for some reason the Narslimmus appears to have entirely stopped producing any mana. It still eats the slimes, but they drop slime balls, and no mana is generated. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong here?

Do they actually die from the Narslimmus? Because the way the Narslimmus "eats" slimes does not actually kill them, it just removes them from the world. As a result they should not be able to drop anything if it's really the Narslimmus that gets them.

You probably have something else there that causes them to die before the Narslimmus can see them.

Wormbo I'm not actually sure, nothing should be killing them but they die regardless. I think what might be happening is that the iron golem I'm using as bait is somehow hitting them through the fences, which causes them to split and no longer be valid targets. But that doesn't explain what kills them

Splitting creates slimes that didn't spawn naturally, and are thus ignored by the Narslimmus.
