Is there a way to make a Hopperhock (or Hopperhock Petite) not use mana?

So, I have a setup with a Pollidisiac feeding some cows, an Open Crate dropping the necessary wheat onto the Pollidisiac, and then a Hopperhock Petite grabbing the items and putting them back in the system to recycle.

The Pollidisiac needs Mana to function, so I put a Mana Pool next to it.

Problem is, the Hopperhock Petite started eating the Mana as well, and got its range increased, neither of which I want.

Is there a way to tell the Hopperhock NOT to eat Mana from nearby Mana Pools? Could I perhaps relocate the Mana pool to a place where only the Pollidisiac can reach it? I'm lost.

You can bind the flower to an empty pool, then break that pool. It will only try to automatically bind to one right after you place the flower.

In the next update of botania you'll also be able to unbind a flower by clicking it with an obedience stick
