charm of the diva does not work as described in the book. Is it supposed to heal the person it hits instead of making the enemies fight each other?

I'm on 1.20.1 and the only mod I have installed is botania.

The intended effect is that the mob you hit attacks a random hostile mob nearby. That effect intentionally only triggers with a chance of 60%, and (because nobody figured out how to properly implement it) will not actually work on mobs with the new AI implementation that e.g. piglins or hoglins have.

Oh, just out of curiosity: What kind of weapon are you attacking the mobs with?
There is a known compatibility issue between Tinkers tools and the various Will effects that can be added to a terrasteel helmet. I just looked up where the diva charm hooks into the attack code, I wouldn't be surprised if it was affected by a similar issue.

Both only healed the opponent.

Weird. Healing is in no way part of that charm.

Can you provide any other information (which mods you use; are you on Forge or Fabric; anything else) that might help figuring this out?

The language was playing in Japanese.

The same results were obtained in English.

Okay, I had some time to test this. With the charm equipped you sometimes see the particle effect that would suggest the mob has been "converted" to your side, but it keeps attacking you.
On Fabric you can convert hostile mobs as expected, but I can't seem to make a polar bear (i.e. a neutral non-enemy mob) attack something else this way.
